Who We Are ?

Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center (NAWRC) is an organization dedicated to the welfare of animals through various programs and initiatives. Let's have an insight on each of our key programs:

1.DPM and Rabies Eradication Program: This program focuses on Dog Population Management (DPM) and aims to eradicate rabies, which is a significant public health concern in many regions. It involves vaccination, sterilization, and public education to control the population of stray dogs and prevent the spread of rabies.

2.Rescue, Relief, Treatment, and Rehabilitation (RRTR) Program: This program provides immediate rescue and relief to animals in distress. It includes treatment of injured or sick animals and their rehabilitation, ensuring they are healthy and can either be released back into their habitat or rehomed.

3.Post Disaster Management Program: In the event of natural disasters, this program ensures the safety and well-being of animals. It involves rescue operations, providing medical care, food, and shelter to animals affected by disasters.

4.Mass Awareness and Education (Transformation) Program: This program aims to raise public awareness about animal welfare issues and educate communities on how to care for and protect animals. It includes campaigns, workshops, and educational programs to foster a culture of compassion and responsibility towards animals.

5.Lobbying and Strategic Planning (AW) with Stakeholders: This involves working with various stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community leaders, to advocate for animal welfare policies and strategic planning to implement effective animal welfare programs.

6.AW Developmental Program: This encompasses several sub-programs aimed at advancing animal welfare:

a. AW Research Program: Conducts research on various aspects of animal welfare to inform and improve practices and policies.

b. Digital Identification and Population Management Program: Uses digital tools and technologies for the identification and management of animal populations, ensuring accurate tracking and data collection.

c. Human-Animal Conflict (Wildlife Support) Program: Addresses conflicts between humans and wildlife, providing support and solutions to mitigate these conflicts and protect both human and animal lives.

d. Animal Welfare Laws and Policy Enforcement Program: Works on the development, implementation, and enforcement of laws and policies related to animal welfare, ensuring legal protection for animals.

These programs collectively aim to improve the lives of animals in Nepal, promote humane treatment, and build a society that values and protects animal welfare.
